BIO:
***Besties for a Boomer(s)*** Charlie (PKA Silk) is a beautiful Yellow Lab that did not have a good life before he came to Cody's. He is a very loving and gentle older soul that currently weighs about 55-60 lbs, he has turned into the perfect couch potato and loves to be with his foster family. He is a shadow that always makes sure he is in the same room as his foster Mom. If she is at work he stays on the sofa in the den waiting for her to come home. He came to Cody's heartworm positive and has made it through the treatment with flying colors. Just recently he was able to get to the Vet and have his teeth cleaned and he lost a couple, but hey who hasn't had teeth issues? He has learned that lovies and chewies are wonderful and is sure to pick out his for the day by getting them from the toy box and placing them in his bed. His foster Mom cleans all the toys up at night and well, that just makes every morning a new day, as he doesn't always pick the same items to love/chew on each day.
Charlie has learned the 4 lb Chihuahua is not to be messed with; not sure about cats foster family does not have one and he hasn't visited any home with one as of yet. He loves to go for walks and is a gentle dog on lead, we are working on skills/manners so he doesn't get too excited when seeing other dogs while walking. He learned what a doggie door is for and takes himself outside as needed. He can also hold his bladder for about 6 hrs if needed (boarding, baths, visiting friends/family).
Cool things about Charlie: he doesn't have a tail (lost prior to coming to Cody's) but the nub wags when he's happy and he has a pretty unique walk - back legs kinda do a pigeon toe thing, it is cute. He can load up (get into a vehicle) with help, knows wait, outside, potty, cookie (of course), time to eat, time for bed, come. Oh, he loves his nightly massage that helps him relax before bed. Foster Mom does not use "no" unless absolutely necessary, it is a word that scares him.
Reach out to Cody's for a meet and greet - Charlie is a loving boy who just wants someone who knows how to relax and cuddle, he doesn't require lots of activity. He would shine in a home as an only pup or sibling in similar age group or fit in with an older couple that just wants a quiet but alert house buddy. He is good with his foster siblings but it him may take time to warm up to new ones. His big thing is patience, his new family will need to go slow, he can take a bit to warm up to folks and other critters sometimes.
