Beanie is now out of emergency surgery. Veterinarians discovered that she had pyometra—a dangerous infection of the uterus—and that her uterus was protruding through the hernia. She remains hospitalized on IV fluids and antibiotics and stayed overnight while the medical team monitored her closely. Before she can go home, they need to see her begin eating on her own.
